In the in vivo model, intraperitoneal injection of EVs improved colitis symptoms by decreasing the secretion levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor—VEGF, IFNγ, TNF-α, and IL-12) and chemokines (CCL-17 and CCL-24), increasing IL-10, and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β levels.
