Indeed, in another investigation on ACROSTUDY, high doses of pegvisomant (above the allowed maximal dose of 30 mg daily) normalized IGF-1 in younger patients, with more aggressive disease, more hypertension, sleep apnea, diabetes, and overweight and with higher baseline levels of IGF-1 compared to patients who were treated with lower doses of pegvisomant (26). Here, IGF1 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
