Among the ones relevant for adenomyosis pathogenesis and infertility (Fig. 3D), D-myo-inositol-5-phosphate metabolism (z-score=-4.6), and signaling pathways for microRNA biogenesis (z-score=-4.5), the actin cytoskeleton (z-score=-4.2), extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) (z-score=-4.0) and ribonucleotide reductase (z-score=-2.7), together with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family ligand-receptor interactions (z-score=-1.9), were predicted as downregulated.
