CHI3L1 levels were elevated in the CSF of ALS patients compared to ONDS (SMD, 0.75; 95% CI, 0.32 – 1.19; P = 0.017) and exhibited a more pronounced increase when compared to AMDS (SMD, 1.92; 95% CI, 0.41 – 3.42; P < 0.001). The gene discussed is CHI3L1; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
