In agreement with our results, previous reports showed that bromelain may reduce the migration of neutrophils into the inflammatory site, and while this may be related to the reduction of cytokines, it is also likely due to the removal of cell surface receptors on neutrophils, including CD44, CD62, and chemokine receptors, and it has effects similar action in tumor cells (22–24). The gene discussed is CD177; the disease is neoplasm.
