LRIG2 has thus far not been implicated in PD but considering that the architectural protein CTCF is known to be capable of binding SVAs, and may thereby cooperate with cohesin to bring these SVA-containing loci into contact with distant regions, we examined the Hi-C data for any 3D chromatin interactions featuring the LRIG2 SVA. This evidence concerns the gene LRIG2 and Parkinson disease.
