Subsequently, we obtained two ubiquitin (Ub) mutant plasmids: HA-Ub-K48O and HA-Ub-K48R, and found that knockdown of NEURL3 enhanced the ubiquitination of Vimentin when NPC cells were co-transfected with HA-Ub-K48O plasmid, but not the HA-Ub-K48R (Fig. 5b), demonstrating that NEURL3 promotes K48-linked ubiquitination of Vimentin. The gene discussed is VIM; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
