The ERbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases consists of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) (also known as HER1/ErbB1), human EGFR 2 (HER2/neu)/ERbB2, HER3/ErbB3 and HER4/ErbB4, and has a role in the tumorigenesis of many types of solid tumors, by promoting tumor angiogenesis and metastasis [1,3]. The gene discussed is ERBB4; the disease is neoplasm.
