Compared with the group without hypertension, the group with hypertension was older, had higher percentages of participants who were male, ever smokers, diabetes patients and hypoglycemic drug users, had higher BMI, SBP, DBP, triglyceride, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, Cr, UA, FPG, HbA1c, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and UA/Cr values, and had lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and eGFR values (p < 0.05) (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene APOB and diabetes mellitus.
