The level of anti-UCHL1 antibody was elevated in serum of patients with FSGS (focal segmental glomerulosclerosis) compared with IgAN, membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis and membranous nephropathy, indicating that anti-UCHL1 antibody might be a biomarker for diagnosis of FSGS [108]. This evidence concerns the gene UCHL1 and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
