8 hypomethylated enhancer motifs were associated with prostate cancer (Additional file 10: Table S9) and the top three were FOXA2 (OR = 1.98, FDR Q-value = 7.8 × 10–3), ZBT14 (OR = 1.79, FDR Q-value = 2.6 × 10–3), and FOXA1 (OR = 1.81, FDR Q-value = 3.7 × 10–2) (Fig. 7C). This evidence concerns the gene FOXA2 and prostate carcinoma.
