In 2007, a study to prospect the biology of EEF1A proteins in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using cell lines with varying differentiation grades inferred that transcript levels of both EEF1A isoforms were increased many fold in undifferentiated cell line JHH6 compared with normal tissue or relatively well-differentiated HuH7, HepG2 cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene EEF1A1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
