ITGA1 and esophageal cancer: Certain single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within this region have been found to be associated with increased PCa risk.[26] We report here that deletion of this locus is a relatively common (>2%) event in prostate, ovarian and esophageal cancers and deletion and loss as well as downregulation of both ITGA1 and ITGA2 correlate with development of an aggressive form of PCa.
