Fused in sarcoma (FUS) and heterogenous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A2/B1 (HNRNPA2B1), both implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), were identified as important regulators of the subcellular distribution of the constitutive HSP70 mRNA, HSPA8, and their actions were essential for dendritic proteostasis during stress. This evidence concerns the gene FUS and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
