Upon detailed analyses of the 20 most highly upregulated transcripts, the astrocytic pattern of the striatum relates to an immunological active signature via CD14, lymphocyte antigen 9 (Ly9), secreted phosphoprotein 1 (Spp1), cystatin F (Cst7), and programmed cell death 1 (PDCD1) associated pathways, the latter two being involved in amyloid angiopathies and multiple sclerosis [49, 50] (Fig. 4C). The gene discussed is CST7; the disease is multiple sclerosis.
