CPT1A and myocardial infarction: Last, to confirm the relationship between VNS’s effect and cholinergic receptors, we used the m-ACh-R inhibitor atropine (0.5 mg/kg, ip) or the α7-nACh-R blocker mecamylamine (1.0 mg/kg, ip) to treat the infarcted heart 1 h after MI and found that the increased CPT1α expression induced by VNS could be obviously abolished by atropine or mecamylamine, respectively.
