All six animals showed evidence of LASV disease prior to treatment as indicated by a constellation of clinical signs that varied among animals and included decreased appetite (6/6), leukopoenia (6/6); lymphopenia (6/6), monocytopenia (4/6); neutropenia (6/6), thrombocytopenia (6/6), and elevated circulating levels of AST (6/6) and C-reactive protein (4/6) (Supplementary Table 3). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is neutropenia.
