Levels of adipose tissue-derived acute phase reactants such as CRP, TNFα, or IL-6 constitute a striking paradigm; a higher CRP-to-albumin ratio at diagnosis has been associated with shorter overall survival in transplant-ineligible elderly patients with AML [284] and shorter treatment-free and overall survival newly in newly diagnosed CLL [285]. Here, CRP is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
