IL6 and colitis: In our previous study, we demonstrated that miR‐223 expression in the terminal ileum and colon was upregulated in the in dextran sodium sulfate induced colitis, and upregulation of miR‐223 could attenuate the clinical signs of experimental colitis and colonic inflammation, which was likely mediated by inhibiting the production of pro‐inflammatory cytokines via the IL‐6/STAT3 signaling pathway.25
