Previous studies have shown that SARS‐CoV‐2 enters the body mainly through binding to the host angiotensin‐converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor,31 and a large number of ACE2 receptors are present in renal cells, with nearly 100‐fold more expression in the kidney and gastrointestinal tract than in the lungs,32 leading to renal tissue damage in COVID‐19 patients, and the kidney is involved in the regulation of water‐electrolyte balance regulation, and its impairment causes fluid and electrolyte imbalance.33 Here, ACE2 is linked to COVID-19.
