Another six-marker HCC diagnostic panel based on PCR composed of six DNA methylation markers (HOXA1, EMX1, AK055957, ECE1, PFKP, and CLEC11A, normalized by B3GALT6 level) had higher diagnostic sensitivity (any stage: 95% vs. 84.39%; early stage vs. stage I: 93% vs. 75.76%) and similar specificity (92% vs. 91.92%) compared to ours [26]. The gene discussed is PFKP; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
