Theeffect of inhibiting KRASmut for lung adenocarcinoma cellsusing trial drugs has been shown to be markedly improved by simultaneouslyinhibiting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R) and mammaliantarget of rapamycin (mTOR).41 Since commercialdrugs are available for both targets (brigatinib and rapamycin analogs, the former is already used for NSCLC), there is a solid basis to designcombination treatments using two- or three-drug combinations. The gene discussed is IGF1R; the disease is lung adenocarcinoma.
