In a study conducted by Kuang,288 it was discovered that indirubin stimulates lipid peroxidation in breast cancer cells, resulting in reduced glutathione (GSH) levels, increased malondialdehyde (MDA) and 4‐Hydroxynonenal (4‐HNE) levels and decreased glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) expression. This evidence concerns the gene GPX4 and breast carcinoma.
