CD4 and lymphopenia: Table 1 details their clinical and biological characteristics. Most patients fit the typical profile of septic individuals, being older males with high severity scores. Generally, these patients displayed reduced mHLA-DR expression and a tendency toward CD4+ T cell lymphopenia, indicative of the immunosuppressed state commonly observed in sepsis.
