Of all 37 VP1 samples, 1 (OK570249 MAD-2011) [23] from Madagascar was isolated from the stool sample of a healthy child, 2 from India and 1 from Senegal were both from patients with AFP [24,25], and the others all from patients with HFMD or enterovirus surveillance, except for the prototype of CVA14 strain isolated from the institute of medicine of South Africa [5]. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hand, foot and mouth disease.
