As suggested by the effect of ezetimibe, an NPC1L1 inhibitor on postprandial hypertriglyceridemia [67], NPC1L1 inhibition may also lead to the reduction in intestinal triglyceride production [67] Totum-070 reduced cholesterol uptake in vitro, and this effect was blunted by co-incubation with ezetimibe (Figure 4B). Here, NPC1L1 is linked to hypertriglyceridemia.
