HSPD1 and autoimmune disease: Thus, as reviewed in reference [2], it was demonstrated that DNA-hsp65 presents broad immunotherapeutic properties for infectious diseases such as leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, paracoccidioidomycosis, chromoblastomycosis, helminth infections; autoimmune diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, encephalomyelitis, and atherosclerosis; allergy diseases such as asthma and atopic dermatitis; and tumors in experimental models of mice and in phase I/II clinical trials in humans.
