The enhanced activation of Src mediates the increase in the membrane expression of the GLUN2B subunit of NMDA receptors, [19,42,43], which results in increased phosphorylation and activity of MAP kinase p38 and altered membrane expression of GluA1 and GluA2 subunits of AMPA receptors, which leads to cognitive impairment, which is in agreement with the pathway described by Taoro-Gonzalez et al. [19]. The gene discussed is MAPK14; the disease is Cognitive impairment.
