ERBB2 and metastatic colorectal cancer: Despite the lack of evidence supporting the use of the ERBB2-targeting mAb trastuzumab in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), recent studies have indicated that alternative ERBB2-targeted therapies such as trastuzumab-deruxtecan (T-DXd), the combination of trastuzumab with the tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) lapatinib, the ERBB2-targeting mAb pertuzumab, or the ERBB2 inhibitor tucatinib may offer more favorable outcomes in patients with mCRC [14,15,16,17].
