In accordance with this, MLT was found to improve hepatometabolic indices of NAFLD in obese mice fed a high-fat diet via MAPK-JNK/P38 signaling modulation [36], and reduced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (as TNFα, Il-6 and Il-1β) and an inducible form of the NO-generating enzyme iNos in the liver of mice exposed to Cd toxicity [51], which appears to support our mechanistic interpretation. Here, MAPK8 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
