CD274 and neoplasm: CTLA4, PD-1, and PD-L1, which have been previously reported to be involved in regulating anti-tumor immunity within several cancers, including EAC [16,34,35], were identified as having increased expression, along with CD45RO and HLA-DR, within NDBE tissues obtained from progressor samples when compared to samples from non-progressors, suggesting that an immunosuppressive environment may develop early in the progression process before invasive cancer develops.
