In the paper by Goulart et al. [86] concerning pancreatic cancer, the authors revealed that high serum PTX3 concentrations (>4.34 ng/mL) had higher diagnostic utility (sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and likelihood ratio) than routine tumor markers, such as CA 19-9 and CEA. This evidence concerns the gene PTX3 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
