IGF1 and hypopituitarism: Suspicion of hypopituitarism should lead to the extension of the diagnostics to the thyroid axis (thyrotropin (TSH), free thyroxine (fT4), and free triiodothyronine (fT3)), the gonadal axis (luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and testosterone levels in males or oestrogen levels in premenopausal females), and the growth hormone axis (insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and glucagon stimulation test), and pituitary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) should be considered.
