Based on TCGA, molecular tumor profiling in the four distinct molecular subtypes of endometrial cancer is as follows: (1) hypermutation in the exonuclease domain of DNA polymerase-ε (POLEmut); (2) mismatch repair deficiency, which confers microsatellite instability (MMRd); (3) mutations in TP53; and (4) tumors with none of the aforementioned classifications (‘no specific molecular profile’ or ‘NSMP’) [15]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is neoplasm.
