Urinary BPA levels were higher in diabetic participants than in non-diabetic participants and showed a positive association with serum risk factors for diabetes mellitus such as HbA1c, HOMA-insulin resistance, C-reactive protein (CRP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), aspartate transaminase (AST), free fatty acids (FFAs), TGs, and malondialdehyde [16]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and diabetes mellitus.
