In this study, 98% (41/42) of providers reported that their use of neoadjuvant systemic therapy in HER2-positive patients was influenced by the results of the KATHERINE trial, which demonstrated that patients with residual invasive disease after completion of neoadjuvant therapy have a reduced risk of breast cancer recurrence with adjuvant trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) (Table 2) [27].
