The S-specific CD4 and CD8 T cell responses were almost absent in patients with variable common immunodeficiency (mean 328 × 106 cells and 315 × 106 cells, respectively) but above the reference cut-off (positive reference value > 200 × 106 cells for CD4 response and >500 × 106 cells for CD8 response [21]) in patients with agammaglobulinemia (mean 568 × 106 cells for CD4 response and 2004 × 106 cells for CD8 response). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is agammaglobulinemia.
