Autoantibodies against Ro/SSA particles were first identified in sera from patients with Sjögren’s syndrome [9] and later detected in sera from patients with other SARDs, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc), IIMs, and even undifferentiated connective tissue disease [10]. The gene discussed is TRIM21; the disease is systemic sclerosis.
