NFKB1 and Crohn disease: In an experimental study focusing on the use of B. pinnatum for treatment of Colitis ulcerosa and Crohn’s disease, hydroethanolic leaf extract showed downregulation of toll-like receptor and NF-κB-p65 in vivo (rats and mice), improved cytoarchitecture of colon tissue, as well as mucosa protection, and in vitro reduction in pro-inflammatory mediators (Andrade et al., 2020).
