TP53 and hepatocellular carcinoma: grade II fever resolves on its own, while grade III fever returns to normal after administration of antipyretic medication. To our surprise the remaining adverse effects myelosuppression and gastrointestinal reaction rates were lower than in the TACE alone group and there was no difference in liver function impairment between the two groups. Thus, rAd-p53 appears to be a safe genetic agent for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, which could alleviate some of the adverse events associated with conventional treatment.
