In 2003, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China approved the first anti-tumor gene therapy drug (rAd-p53) in combination with radiotherapy for the treatment of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC) [39].The main principle of rAd-p53 is to introduce the P53 gene into cancer cells by constructing an adenoviral vector to express the p53 protein and perform biological functions. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is neoplasm.
