Therefore, this study aims to comprehensively analyze and compare the associations between ALT, AST, GGT, and NAFLD in both genders using cross-sectional data from a large sample of the general population, explore the most suitable combination of liver enzymes for screening NAFLD in both genders, and provide new insights for public health agencies to develop gender-specific screening strategies, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of NAFLD screening.
