CD4 and infection: Compared with 3,548 other patients attended at Spanish clinical centers studied by us in the same period in which infections with CRF75_BF1 had been diagnosed (2012–2022), the difference in the proportion of viruses with CD4+ T-cell counts ≤220 cells/mm3 (100% vs. 29.3%) was statistically significant when analyzed with Fisher’s exact test (p = 0.0074).
