At 2 h post-infection the frequency of infected cells (Figure 1C) and the number of intracellular parasites (Figure 1D) observed in Naip1-7-/- and Nlrc4-/- PMs were similar to the C57BL/6 WT cells, demonstrating that cell invasion by T. cruzi was not affected by the absence of NAIP or NLRC4, similar as previously described for NLRP3 (11).
