Previous studies demonstrated anti-metastatic effects of Notch3, a transcription factor, through transcriptional up-regulation of p21[53], estrogen receptor-α (ERα) [21], GATA-3 [23], miR-488/FSCN1 [54] and Kibra-mediated Hippo/YAP signaling [25] in breast cancer epithelial cells. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and breast cancer.
