Recent studies showed that the FMS-related tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) gene mutation was found in 12% to 30% of all MPAL.[8–10] However, due to the rarity of MPAL with FLT3 mutations, the effect of FLT3 mutations on prognosis is uncertain, and there is little evidence to guide the treatment of FLT3-positive MPAL. The gene discussed is FLT3; the disease is mixed phenotype acute leukemia.
