Next, we divided patients into SII and Ki-67 low/high expression groups and discovered for the first time that the SII/Ki-67 high expression group exhibited an increase in neutrophil and platelet counts, accompanied by a decrease in lymphocyte count, suggesting a more pronounced inflammatory response and increased cellular proliferation within the tumor microenvironment, as indicated by the elevated pretreatment SII combined with an elevated Ki-67 index.
