This potent inducer of hypertension (Patelis et al., 2017) resulted in aortic dissection (in four out of five animals) and gross thoracic aortic aneurysms (in one out of five animals) affecting the ascending aorta and aortic arch; none of these effects were seen in vehicle-treated eNOS null mice (Fig. S3I-M). This evidence concerns the gene NOS3 and thoracic aortic aneurysm.
