Since aberrant NLRP3 inflammasome activity contributes to series of diseases including sepsis, gout, atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, autoimmune disorders and Alzheimer’s disease3,38, our study also indicated that targeting KAT5-NLRP3 axis may provide a potential for treatment of NLRP3 associated diseases. The gene discussed is KAT5; the disease is atherosclerosis.
