Based on the routine laboratory tests, general inflammatory markers, such as CRP, PCT, IL-6, ferritin, and white blood cell (WBC) count were significantly higher (P < 0.001 or P < 0.0001, respectively) in the critically ill cohort compared to severe COVID-19 subjects, while PLT count did not show a significant difference between the two COVID-19 groups. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and COVID-19.
