In the severe COVID-19 group, two patients had an NLR higher than the existing average: a male patient (aged 73 years), with NLR of 30.9, who also had very high IL-6 levels, and was diagnosed with severe COVID-19 accompanied by bilateral pneumonia, cardiomegaly and aortic dilatation and a male patient (aged 58 years) who had an NLR of 23.68 and was diagnosed with severe COVID-19 accompanied by pneumonia and aortic atherosclerosis. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
